Vani’s Story Of How Counseling Helped Her Restore Harmony

Vani is a 30-year-old professional from Delhi and works at Yellow.Ai under the G&A team. She is fun and outgoing and has always been an avid reader. Her entry into counseling was not planned but she is glad she decided to approach YourDOST.

Vani expressed that there were family responsibilities that she had to cater to and she recently got married.  Residing with her in-laws initially was becoming difficult for her as there were a few indifferences she noticed spurring up as days went by.

“I remember those days of how I was trying to strike a balance of personal and professional commitments.”

She is somebody who is always after little things and finds happiness in acquiring them.

Amidst the chaos of trying to find a balance with her work life, Vani heard about YourDOST through her office.

“I was in a pretty bad shape and I understood that I needed professional help, it was around this time I consciously decided to give therapy a chance and booked my first session with Ms. Sanjana.”

Vani articulated that meeting Ms. Sanjana Guha Roy, her counselor felt like inhaling a fresh breath. While there were initial hesitations, with time Vani found solace in the compassionate embrace of her counselor, a space where her emotions found a voice and her spirit soared high!

Change can be challenging for people. It is scary and puts us through multiple tests and challenges, however on the flip side, when we make it out of our comfort zones we emerge victorious. In other words, it lets us be the devil’s advocate.

In Vani’s case, her new marriage was the instrument that pushed her out of her comfort zone.

“I had trouble keeping my anger at bay, this would result in serious breakdowns, emotional exhaustion, and in some cases a surge in my anxiety level.”

Vani’s emotional turmoil changed after she decided to seek counseling, and address her profound struggles with anger and anxiety.

Marriage was new grounds for her and she had to constantly stay cautious of whats happening around her. There were adjustment issues marked by the thorny patches of conflict between her husband and herself. Vani mentions that her in-laws slowly began understanding her and she was able to build stronger bonds with her newfound family.

Through counseling Vani gleaned wisdom that illuminated the sanctity of her marriage and recognizing patterns that affected their marriage and slowly put a stop to it.

“I remember how I used to cry for petty things and ended up getting anxious. This affected my overall peace.”

The poignant memories of her tears, shed over trifles, reflected the depths of her emotional turmoil, a labyrinth she navigated with palpable weariness. The spectre of her past emotional upheavals, now cloaked in the gentle whispers of healing, offered respite from the wild emotional storms that once held sway over her serenity.

In Vani’s journey, we find a testament to the transformative power of self-exploration and emotional healing with counseling. She emerged as an embodiment of resilience, offering hope and strength by pushing forward with her struggles. The restorative power of counseling helped her restart her life with full vigour.

Vani rated herself with a 4 on 5 in terms of feeling better and we are tremendously proud of her and her inspiring journey with us here at YourDOST.

Vani’s Warrior Tips:
1.“Never let anyone make decisions for you.”
2.“It is up to us to how much we let somebody affect us.”
