Mohit’s Story Of Overcoming His Social Media Fixation With Therapy

Mohit is a 31-year-old sales manager at Future Generali Life Insurance.

Mohit is originally from Dhar in Madhya Pradesh, where he spent his entire childhood. His joint family includes his parents, brother, sister-in-law, wife, and daughter. he has been married for five years and shares a great bond with his family. He shares proudly that he is an affectionate father to his lovely 3-year-old daughter and a devoted husband to his wife.

Mohit adds that since childhood, he has been more interested in sports than his academic studies. He is passionate about pursuing Taekwondo as a hobby and loves to travel around the country and try different cuisines.

Although Mohit is interested in travel, he explains that he travels more for job-related trips and rarely has time to pursue anything else. A few months ago, he started facing some roadblocks in his path. Issues with his family cropped out of nowhere, and he saw himself being on his mobile phone more than spending time with his family.

Confused about how to proceed, Mohit was scrolling through the emails on his mobile and came across the newsletter from his company regarding their tie-up with YourDOST.

“I have never taken therapy before, but when I read the benefits of therapy and the process of contacting the experts, I decided to sit for the sessions and find a solution.”

Mohit explains that the sessions were solution-oriented, as he had expected. The counselor asked about his issues in detail before giving any guidance.

Mohit shared his issues at home and the dependency he was having on his mobile phone and social media. Understanding his situation, the counselor gave him tips and simple daily techniques to help him overcome them.

“The expert guided me about using time limits for my mobile and suggested suggestions to help me with family issues. I followed everything they said, and we reviewed the progress made in each consequent session together.”

Eventually, with therapy, Mohit overcame his situation and elucidates being in a better place now, where everything is content and sound.

“It has been 7 months since my last session, and I can confidently say that life has been going well since then, and I’m able to handle any situation that comes my way.”

As Mohit rates himself 5 out of 5 in feeling better, we are glad we could help him sort things out and move forward.
