#1 – About Time

This is one of our personal favorites! This movie is everything you need to brighten up your day! It’s full of laughter, cozy and fun scenes, as well as quite a few emotional roller-coasters.

It’s about a young man who discovers that he can travel in time and change the things around him. Domhnall Gleeson and Rachel McAdams were brilliant in this movie, bringing to life the characters in the best possible way.

Katarina’s Review: This is the best romantic comedy I have ever watched. It’s truly one of my all-time favorite movies. If you want to watch something sweet and witty but also smart and deep, I am sure that you will enjoy About Time!

#2 – Soul

Soul is the movie that will melt your heart! The protagonist in this Pixar movie is Joe. He is a middle-school band instructor whose life hasn’t turned out as planned.

We won’t go into the details, but there is one thing that you need to know about this movie – It will change your day, year, and life! This movie teaches us to live this life to the fullest, dance in the rain, and appreciate every moment.

Our Review: Soul is a wake-up call for all of us! If you pick it today, you won’t regret it. If not, please add it to your list, it’s a must-watch!

#3 – The Gentleman

The Gentleman is a masterpiece by Guy Ritchie. It’s a crime comedy with an amazing cast, story, and plot.

In an attempt to steal his domain out from under him, an American businessman attempts to sell off his highly successful marijuana business in London, which unleashes conspiracies, plots, bribery, and blackmail.

Matthew David McConaughey, Michelle Dockery, and Charlie Hunnam have given us one hell of a movie, and we’re so grateful!

The Gentleman is full of fun scenes, humor that will make you laugh out loud. It brings the old-fashioned crime story back to life in a fantastic way! 

Milan’s Review: This has probably been my favorite movie in the past 4-5 years (and I have seen a LOT)! The spectacular cast, the captivating storytelling, and the unique vibe make for a memorable movie experience. This is not your run-of-the-mill crime movie, but it’s so much more than that. I can’t recommend it enough, give it a chance, and you’ll see why I loved it!

#4 – Joker

Joker is a story of Arthur Fleck, an unsuccessful stand-up comedian and a man with mental health issues. Arthur is abused by society, isolated, and left to struggle alone, which brings to life his alter-ego, the Joker.

The movie is full of surprises and twists that you will never see coming! It depicts how sometimes the world can be too much for one man to handle alone, but if he finds his place, there is a chance that he can make it.

Joaquin Phoenix’s performance is out of this world, and we’re so happy that he got the Oscar for it! We hope that there will be Joker 2 in the future!

Our Review: Joker is an emotional roller-coaster that will leave you breathless! It shows the dark side of humanity, which makes us think about our actions and behaviors. It can be hard to watch in some moments, but you won’t regret watching it!

#5 – Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is one of Quentin Tarantino’s masterpieces. It brings together all the most important elements of his movies – humor, thrill, and violence!

The movie is set in 1969, at the time of Charles Manson’s cult and his followers. The story follows the life of Rick Dalton and his stunt double Cliff Booth, two actors who are trying to make the best out of Hollywood.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt gave an outstanding performance!

The story is captivating from beginning to end, keeping you glued to your seat until the very last second! It has a lot in common with many Tarantino movies, but it’s still different enough!

Our Review: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is one of those movies that you either love or hate. There’s no middle ground! We loved it, and we recommend watching it right away if you’re into Tarantino’s style.

#6 – What Dreams May Come

What Dreams May Come is one of those movies that you will never forget! It’s a story about love, loss, and hope. It shows the fragility of life but also how strong humanity can be if you just carry on!

The special effects are beyond amazing! This movie will teach you how to appreciate everything and everyone in life!

Robin Williams has given us a masterpiece with his stunning performance!

We would recommend this movie to everyone who wants to see something truly special.

Our Review: This is one of those movies seen differently by every person who watches it. Some will love it while others might not find the meaning behind it, but still, everyone should give this movie a try!

Captain Fantastic is the story of Ben, a father who has raised his six kids in isolation from society. They live in a forest and are self-sufficient, making them happy and very different from “normal” people.

When tragedy strikes their family, they have to reintegrate into a society where everything is so different! This new life is not easy for them, but they will do everything to make it work!

It is a movie that will make you think about what it means to be a family and cherish life!

Our Review: Crème de la crème! Captain Fantastic is, well, fantastic! It’s an amazing movie with boho vibes and lots of laughter!

#8 – Ford v Ferrari (Le Mans ’66)

Ford v Ferrari is a story about the 1966 Le Mans 24-hours race. It’s based on true events, and it shows how two men, Ford vs. Ferrari, were racing to win this iconic race!

The movie will make you feel like you’re right there with them while they are pushing cars beyond their limits to come out as a winner!

The story follows Ken Miles, Ford’s best driver of all time, and Carroll Shelby, who was in charge of designing the car. Played by Christian Bale and Matt Damon, they will make you root for them until the end!

Our Review: We would definitely recommend watching this movie! It’s a true story about two men fighting for their dreams against all odds. The action scenes are amazing, but nothing beats the emotional part because it really shows how much it takes to win!

#9 – Free Guy

Free Guy is a movie with such a unique idea! It’s a funny story about a regular guy who finds out that he is actually an NPC in a computer game.

Played by Ryan Reynolds, this light-hearted movie can be a great time killer! It will definitely make you laugh out loud.

Our Review: The Free Guy is definitely an exciting and fresh idea. We’ve never seen anything like it before. It’s a fantastic movie to watch if you want to feel good!

#10 – Secret Window

Secret Window is a psychological thriller about a successful writer Mort who gets sued by John Shooter after accusing him of plagiarism. Soon, he starts seeing things that might not be real at all!

Johnny Depp has given an outstanding performance in this movie where everything can happen, and nothing seems to make sense until the very end. This story will keep you on your toes!

Our Review: A movie that will make you think about mental health and the importance of being kind to others. Johnny Depp had a stunning performance. We would definitely recommend watching this movie!

#11 – Flashbacks of a Fool

If you love Daniel Craig and want to see a different side of him, you have to watch Flashbacks of a Fool.

This movie is about Joe, who has it all, the perfect house and a beautiful wife but he cannot forget his past.

Joe goes on an adventure to find out what happened in those years that are missing from his life, leading him to some big discoveries!

It is a very touching story filled with emotions, Flashbacks of a Fool will make you think about life and how to live it!

Our Review: We would definitely recommend watching this movie. It’s a story that will make you think, laugh and cry all at the same time! Excellent performances from Daniel Craig & Harry Eden. The soundtrack is also stunning. A must-watch for sure!

Room is a heartbreaking story about mother and son, Ma and Jack, who are living in one room. They have been there for five years now, but their life doesn’t stop!

Ma has created a wonderful world where they both can be happy even if they are locked up all day long.

This movie will make you think about the importance of love and how we can survive and be happy even if the odds are against us.

Our Review: A movie that will make you feel all kinds of emotions! We would definitely recommend watching this. It’s a perfect movie for those who want to watch something intense but with depth at the same time.
